HOW TO ENTER TSA TOURNAMENTS
December 28, 2021From the very start, entering her first junior tournament at the age of 6, tennis became a way of life for Jackie. Her passion for tennis throughout her junior years, where she represented WP, and SA both as a junior (and a young senior), earned her the no 1 U18 ranking in South Africa and a WTA ranking of 386 by the 12th grade.

She was recruited by Oklahoma State University, a top 10 Division I university in America and upon high school graduation she left for America to advance her tennis career. Within two years she was ranked no 2 in the country along with her doubles partner from Poland and was named an All American, an honour awarded to only the top 16 players in the country.
After her senior year at OSU, Jackie was offered an assistant coaching position at Washington State University where her main role was to train and prepare top 18-year old recruits from around the world, for the rigours of DI collegiate competition.
In her second year she was named Pacific Northwest Assistant Coach of the Year and was also named Pacific Northwest Open player of the year. She continued in this role for 12 years.
After 16 years abroad she returned to Cape Town where she currently runs a full-time junior program at Kelvin Grove Club. With 16 years’ experience in the American Collegiate system Jackie also assists selected players through the challenging process of securing American university scholarships.
Jackie plays premier league and is ranked no 1 in her age group in SA in both singles and women’s doubles. “I am very proud to be a South African. We are the most passionate sports nation I have experienced and I am excited to get stuck in and collaborate with some of the best minds and sports people out there, to continue the work done before us and get our youth excited about tennis and to assist them in navigating through the various life pathways tennis provides. Thank you for the opportunity”.
