1954    Born in Cape Town

1970    Matriculated and started working at Cecil Kilpin Chartered Accountants

1975    Joined SA Breweries Finance Department and transferred to London

1980    Joined Ronald Sassoon as Financial Manager in the fashion industry

1992    Founded the GG Accounting Group and became a Platinum Pastel Provider and top Training Centre in SA.

2001    Business Women’s Association:  Entrepreneur of the Year Award (Western Cape)

2018    Enterprising Woman of the year Award, Miami, USA.

2020    Sold GG Accounting business and retired from practice

Current: Treasurer of Cape Town (CT) Tennis since 1990

SAICA registered accounting and tax practitioner

  1. Description of what Treasurer of CT Tennis portfolio entails:

The Treasurer is a member of the Executive Board of CT Tennis and is responsible for the following:

  • Managing the entity’s financial assets & liabilities, working capital and investment portfolio
  • Budgeting for adequate liquidity and financial stability
  • Cash flow forecasting and monitoring.
  • Risk assessment.
  • Negotiating terms with banks and compliance with their regulations
  • Ensuring accurate and timeous financial reporting
  • Compliance with corporate governance and regulatory requirements
  1. Current status of portfolio:
  • Currently, CT Tennis is in a healthy financial condition and able to meet its financial commitments in the foreseeable future.
  • The external audit for the financial year ending 29 February 2024 has been completed.
  • The draft Annual Financial Statements (AFS) will shortly be presented to the Finance Committee for approval and signature by the Chairperson and Treasurer.
  • Thereafter, the AFS will be circulated to the Clubs for their approval at the AGM.
